Hi loves! I hope you all had a wonderful Easter weekend. My mom and I decided to take a little road trip up to Kentucky for the weekend and it was my first time visiting the state! The drive was beautiful, despite some traffic along the way.

We spent Friday night in Danville visiting with my brother who is in college there, and then went to his lacrosse game on Saturday. Fun fact – I actually played lacrosse in high school, so I love watching the sport! After the game, we made our way to Lexington!

We stayed at the 21c Museum Hotel in Lexington, and it was honestly one of the coolest places I have ever seen! I love boutique hotels, but I’d never heard of a “museum hotel” so I really wasn’t sure what to expect. From the moment you walk inside, everything is an exhibit. There is artwork on every wall, and even the hotel’s decor is part of the museum. It’s like nothing I have seen before. Here are some highlights:

Room: Our room was clean, spacious, and had beautiful historic windows overlooking the city. We stayed on he 11th floor and the view was amazing! Not to mention, the afternoon light in the room was perfect for photos haha (#bloggerlife) The room had everything we needed, including a stocked mini fridge and  Malin + Goetz bath amenities. The beds were also SUPER comfortable!!

Museum: With over 7,000 sq feet of exhibition space, there was a lot to see!! The galleries also rotate, so there is always something new. It’s definitely not your ordinary art museum – a few of the pieces are meant to surprise you! If you’re in the Lexington area, the museum is open (at no cost) for anyone to visit, and I’d definitely recommend stopping by! You can grab a drink at the bar and take it with you around the museum.

The hotel has a 24 hour fitness center, as well as a restaurant on-site. We didn’t have time to try either of them, but the menu looked amazing! We did have a drink in the bar and loved the atmosphere.

We had dinner down the street at Dudley’s On Short and it was FABULOUS! My mom had eaten there before and she had to return for the brussel sprout salad – SO glad we went!  I would highly recommend if you’re ever in Lexington – it’s only a 3 minute walk from the hotel too!

We were only in Lexington for about 18 hours, and I would love to go back one day! We really wish that we had more time to spend there. We absolutely loved our stay at 21c Museum Hotel and will definitely be checking out the other locations in the future!!
