Maple Cider Bourbon Cocktail

October 23, 2021

My family LOVES bourbon. My parents have been collecting it for years, and got my husband started on collecting it too. We now have a full bar in our house for the bourbon collection, and although it’s nowhere close to my parents – it’s pretty impressive! I’ve never been a big liquor drinker, but I do enjoy visiting the distilleries and hunting down the “rare” bourbons for our collection. It’s a fun game!

I wanted to come up with a bourbon cocktail that even non-bourbon drinkers (like myself) would enjoy – and I think I hit the jackpot! I incorporated some of my favorite fall flavors, and it turned out deliciously refreshing. You can use any type of bourbon for this recipe, but per my husband’s recommendation I went with Woodford Reserve. It’s a great bourbon that isn’t too expensive or hard to find. Also, make sure to use pure maple syrup for this recipe – not Aunt Jemima.. you can save that for your pancakes 🙂

Ingredients:

  • 2 oz bourbon of choice (I used Woodford Reserve)
  • 3 oz apple cider
  • 1 oz pure maple syrup
  • 1 oz ginger ale
  • Optional garnishes: apple slices, cinnamon sticks, rosemary sprigs

Directions:

  • Fill cocktail shaker with ice and add bourbon, apple cider & maple syrup
  • Shake for 30 seconds, then pour in a cup over ice
  • Top with ginger ale
  • Garnish with apple slice, cinnamon stick and rosemary sprig
  • Enjoy!
